''Stars Die – Rare and Unreleased'' is a compilation album by British psychedelic rock/progressive rock band Porcupine Tree, released on cassette in Poland only. It features one side of tracks taken from singles and a side of tracks taken from the ''Insignificance'' cassette. This is essentially an early form of ''Stars Die: The Delerium Years 1991-1997'', that omits tracks from ''On the Sunday of Life''. It is a notable release as it was the last release to include an unedited form of "Wake As A Gun II" which was later altered for the 2003/2004 reissue of ''Signify''. In "Steven Wilson – The Complete Discography (8th Edition – March 2009)", Wilson stated the following concerning the tracks Wake As Gun I/Wake As A Gun II: "This song was demoed in various incarnations. It always sounded like it should be a part of something bigger and longer but I never found a happy home for it. At one stage it was part of another "Signify" unreleased track "Cryogenics" (never recorded but performed live once at the Roadmenders, Northampton)." "Wake as Gun," would ultimately be reused in Wilson's other project, No-Man, for the song "Jack the Sax" (on the 1997 EP Dry Cleaning Ray). ==Track listing==
